ABOUT US

With a focus on patient care and quality imaging, we offer a comfortable and relaxing setting for our patients.   We provide our referring physicians with the latest technology in MRI services, and are committed to presenting the highest quality imaging to our physicians.  We are accredited locations with board certified radiologists, and our technologists are all certified with years of hospital and outpatient experience.

WHAT IS MRI?

Magnet resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that uses a magnetic field and radio frequencies to generate detailed anatomical images of organs, soft tissue, bone and other internal body structures.  MRI is one of the most accurate and advanced medical imaging exams offered today. The images offer the detail and diagnosis that will allow your physician to determine your care.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR MRI?

Patient comfort is our highest priority, and we can achieve this through your help.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork, and let us field any questions or concerns you may have prior to your exam.  Our staff is courteous, knowledgeable and compassionate.  All questions are handled with the utmost privacy and respect.

Please remember the physician’s order, as well as your insurance card and ID.  Personal items are not allowed near the scanner.  Lockers will be provided for these items.  You can wear loose-fitting, metal free clothing or we do have scrubs and gowns provided for your convenience.

There are few restrictions for your MRI exam.  You can eat, drink and take any medications you normally take.  Should your exam require fasting or any other preparations prior to your appointment, our educated staff will inform you of these restrictions.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Our MRI technologist will assist you into position on the table and make sure you are comfortable prior to starting the exam.  Most exams will take 35 – 60 minutes.  The technologist will talk with you during the exam to ensure your comfort throughout the duration.  Should you need assistance or are having trouble laying still you can inform the technologist at any time during the exam.  You will hear knocking noises which are all part of the imaging process.  We do provide earplugs, and also play music into the room.  We do have a music library for you to choose from or you can choose a radio station or bring in your own CD that we can play into the room.  Family members and friends are also allowed to sit in the room with you during the exam.

SAFETY

Your safety is of the utmost importance.  You will be prescreened when scheduling your appointment. Please notify us if you have any of the following:
*Cardiac pacemaker
*Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)
*Cochlear implant(s)
*Metallic prostheses
*Aneurysm clips

AFTER YOUR MRI

When you have completed your exam, the technologist will give you a CD copy of your images to bring to your next visit with your physician.  Our board certified radiologist will interpret your images, and we will fax this report to your physician within 24 hours of your exam.  You should expect a followup from your physician within a few days.
