Summary of Qualifications for Kathryn A. Occhipinti, M.D.

Dr. Occhipinti is a new member of our Radiology Staff. Though she currently resides in Peoria, Illinois with her family, she has lived in many places throughout the United States.  As a result, she is licensed in the states of Illinois, Florida, California, New Jersey and New York.  In 1992 she became certified with the American Board of Radiology and the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1988.   

Attending Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, she received her B.A. Here she completed a Six-Year Medical Program and later became an M.D. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. 

She completed her Internship in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in New York. Her Residency requirements were fulfilled in Diagnostic Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York and her Fellowship in Body MRI and Genitourinary Radiology at the University of California in San Francisco.  

Presently and for the past eight years, she holds the title of Director of Women's Imaging at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.  In addition to her current responsibilities as Director of Mammography and Women's Imaging, she is the Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. 

In the past, she has acquired numerous positions in various parts of Florida. These include, but are not limited to Chief of MRI at Westside Regional Hospital and Chief of Radiology at Palm Beach Regional Hospital in Lake Worth.

She has presented many lectures in her career ranging in topics about Women's Imaging to Renal Tumors to Gastrointestinal Potpourri.

In addition to these duties, Dr. O has memberships in many societies including the American Cancer Society, Society for the Advancement of Women's Imaging, Radiological Society of North America, International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and American College of Radiology.
